Short description of Grenada:
Grenada is made up of three islands, Grenada, Petite Martinique and Carricou and although Grenada is the largest it is only 34 km wide and 18 km long. The landscape is a mountainous and volcanic one of striking beauty, boasting pristine beaches, mangrove plantations, magnificent coral reefs as well as rainforests and strange-looking crater lakes.
The island is rich in spices, cocoa, banana and sugar plantations, it is in fact known as the ‘Spice Island’, for one can find all kinds of spices from vanilla, nutmeg, ginger, cinnamon just to name a few. And for this reason Grenadian food is very tasty with its spicy and hot ingredients added to crab, lamb, chicken and vegetables, a delight for the palate.
Grenadian music is a tradition on the island; with its African origins Calypso music is a way of life in Grenada, rendering the atmosphere cheerful and relaxed.
The climate is tropical with average temperatures of 28°C. The dry season goes from January to May and the rainy season from June to December.
