Short description of Samoa:
The industrial sector is one of the most important sectors of Samoa. In fact, this sector accounts for about 58% of the Gross Domestic Product of this nation. After the industrial sector, the service sector is the next important sector of this country because it accounts for about 30% of the country’s GDP.
Samoa’s economy has been depending on agricultural exports, development aid and private family remittances from overseas. About 66% of the working population has been employed by the agricultural sector and the agricultural products accounts for about ninety percent of the total exports of Samoa.
Some of the agricultural products that are exported are private nonu fruit juice, coconut oil, coconut cream and copra. The tourism industry is now slowly developing and it accounts for about 1/4th of the Gross Domestic Product of the country.
The number of tourists visiting Samoa has increased over the years. Even though the country has been influenced by the Europeans for a long time, Samoa has still maintained its customs.
