Short description of Sao Tome and Principe:
In terms of population, this country is considered to be the second smallest nation in Africa. Plantation agriculture is an important for the economy of São Tomé and Príncipe and these plantations are controlled by the organizations that are owned by the State.
The culture of the country has been influenced by the Portuguese and African cultures. Tourists are generally interested in seeing the architecture of this country. Some of the places that most tourists like to visit are the Arquivo Histórico, the Santa Sé cathedral and the São Sebastião fortress. São Tomé and Príncipe was one a Portuguese colony and it gained independence in the year 1975. The economy of the country is dependent on fishing, agriculture, cocoa and coffee.
